We’re honored to share that DuPage Foundation, in partnership with DuPage County, has been named the 2025 Philanthropic Foundation of the Year by the West Suburban Philanthropic Network (WSPN). The WSPN Philanthropy Awards annually recognize community leaders, nonprofits, and foundations going above and beyond for the western suburbs.
This recognition celebrates the remarkable impact of our DuPage Community Transformation Partnership (DCTP)—a joint effort that has delivered millions of dollars in vital support to residents across our county.
“Our work with the Foundation exemplifies what we can achieve when we come together for our community to address critical needs. We are grateful to WSPN for this honor.”
– Hon. Deborah Conroy, DuPage County Board Chair
An Award Rooted in Collaboration
To honor the deep collaboration between the Foundation and County leadership through the DCTP, DuPagePads and a coalition of area nonprofit leaders nominated DuPage Foundation and the DuPage County Board for this recognition.
“This award celebrates what can happen when committed partners unite around a shared vision for collective impact,” said Mike Sitrick,
Foundation president & CEO. “From immediate crisis intervention to long-term transformational funding, the DCTP has helped improve the lives of thousands throughout DuPage County. We are deeply honored to be recognized alongside our partners at the DuPage County Board and the many donors and nonprofits making this work possible.”
Transforming Philanthropy Through Partnership
The DCTP, launched in 2022, is a multi-year initiative funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars allocated by DuPage County. Through this partnership, we administered Immediate Intervention and Transformational grants focused on addressing food insecurity, housing instability, and mental health and substance abuse issues, distributing millions in support to nonprofits serving the area’s most urgent needs. In total, the DCTP has awarded $10,450,000 through 84 grants.
Collective Impact
In 2003, we were the inaugural recipient of WSPN’s Philanthropic Foundation of the Year award. To be recognized again in partnership with DuPage County is a testament to the power of working together to tackle big challenges and opportunities.
This recognition by WSPN reflects not just past achievements, but a growing movement in DuPage toward sustained, collective impact.
“It’s a proud moment,” said Sitrick. “And one that energizes us to keep going all in for DuPage.”
