We proudly celebrated several new and retiring Trustees and welcomed a new slate of officers at a special reception held on September 18 at Oak Brook Manor. Nearly 75 of our friends and partners joined the gathering commending the work of these committed volunteers.
The Foundation welcomed new Trustees John Campbell (Naperville), Matt Darnall (Glen Ellyn), Chris Rohn (Hinsdale), and Joan Vilim (Oak Brook), and introduced its FY2026 slate of officers: returning Chair Bill Blum (Naperville), Vice Chair Roger McDougal (Glen Ellyn), and new officers Treasurer Braden Waverley (Hinsdale) and Secretary Rich Cline (Wheaton).
“[My wife] Jennifer and I have supported charitable causes for much of our adult lives,” said new Trustee Matt Darnall. “Over time, we’ve become more intentional, seeking out organizations that align with our values. As we got to know the Foundation, it was clear its mission and donor support model were a strong fit for our time and energy.”
“The fiscal year ending this past June was our biggest year of impact on record with more than $17 million granted on behalf of our community and beyond,” said Mike Sitrick, DuPage Foundation president & CEO. “But, with more than one in four households struggling to meet basic needs here in DuPage County, the need has grown to more than what any one person or entity can address alone. We are fortunate to call on the significant expertise and generosity of these new and returning Trustees and officers as we seek to build an ecosystem of collective impact throughout DuPage County.”
Also among those honored at the event were retiring Trustees Patricia Atuesta (Hinsdale), Andy Johnson (Warrenville), Dorothy O’Reilly (Wheaton), and Ted Saul (Glen Ellyn).
“My wife, Dianne, and I are very thankful to have had the chance to learn and participate with DuPage Foundaton’s talented staff and Board members,” said retiring Trustee Ted Saul. “Being involved in the Foundation’s work has really opened our eyes to the whole spectrum of needs in DuPage County.”
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible amount of energy and expertise these retiring volunteer leaders have brought to the Foundation during their tenure,” said Bill Blum, Foundation Board Chair. “DuPage Foundation operates with a small team, but a large network of dedicated volunteers, and our work in the community is only possible because of their service and advocacy.”
