What is a Community Foundation?

At DuPage Foundation, we are DuPage County’s community foundation and champion for philanthropy.

A community foundation is a public charity where individuals, families, and businesses join together to support their community. Community foundations can also help people and organizations plan and achieve their personal giving goals, locally and beyond, today and into the future.

By pooling financial contributions, community foundations build lasting community endowments to address a range of needs and opportunities in areas including health and human services, youth education, workforce development, arts, the environment, and more.

Guided by local leaders, a community foundation helps make our community stronger today, and for generations to come.
