Welcoming New Committee Members and Introducing our Community Impact Investors’ Circle Committee

We are pleased to welcome eight new volunteer committee members, as well as announce the creation of our new Community Impact Investors’ Circle (CIIC) Committee! The CIIC Committee will serve as ambassadors for our Community Impact Investors’ Circle, a new program that collaborates with local businesses, corporations, private foundations, and other community partners to broaden the scope of our local grantmaking while helping build capacity to address future needs and opportunities for DuPage County.

“Leadership from the Community Impact Investors’ Circle Committee to guide this new initiative will greatly expand DuPage Foundation’s capacity for good across the county,” said Nicki Anderson, DuPage Foundation director of strategic partnerships and staff lead for the Circle. “Through the generous support of our donors and community partners, we can respond to future challenges and build a more resilient DuPage together.”

 

Welcoming New Committee Members

We are excited to welcome six members to the inaugural Community Impact Investors’ Circle Committee:

  • Wendy Hayum-Gross, MS, LCPC, (Naperville) is a founding partner of Grow Wellness Group in Naperville, named one of the fastest growing companies in the country in 2023 by Inc.5000. In addition to her background as an entrepreneur and former small business owner, Wendy brings extensive experience in advocacy, philanthropy, and leadership to her professional and community volunteer work. She is also a co-founder and the volunteer executive director of Grow Wellness Foundation, which provides financial support for mental health access in Chicago’s western suburbs.
  • Bob Hutchinson (Wheaton) is a lifelong DuPage County resident and has worked in the banking industry for 35 years. Currently, he is the president of Wheaton Bank & Trust Co. and serves on its board of directors. Bob also serves as a trustee of The Conservation Foundation and as a director of Choose DuPage and College of DuPage Foundation. He earned a B.S. degree in economics from Illinois State University and an MBA from Benedictine University.
  • Heather Madsen (Lisle) is a commercial real estate finance expert with 23 years of experience. She currently heads the CRE Underwriting and Portfolio Management team in the Loan Syndications group at CIBC Bank USA in Chicago. In her role, Heather manages loan syndication origination and amendments, ensuring accurate underwriting and efficient multi-bank transactions—maintaining high standards of risk assessment and compliance. Heather received her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University.
  • Jim Mark, AIA, LEED AP, (Darien) is a licensed architect and the managing director for private markets and chief strategy officer for Wight & Company. He is known throughout Chicago and its suburbs as an advocate for regional economic and community development and a champion of environmental stewardship and vital social services. He currently serves on the boards of the Chinese American Service League, Choose DuPage, DuPage Foundation, Friends of the Chicago River, Naperville Heritage Society, and Will County Center for Economic Development.
  • Natasha Marriner, CFP®, (Naperville) is a trusted financial advisor with 30 years of experience serving the needs of individuals, families, and organizations through customized solutions unique to each client. Through a holistic financial planning approach, Natasha—a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with Busey Wealth Management®—covers a variety of topics including estate, charitable, retirement and tax planning, and exit planning guidance for business owners. Natasha is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing.
  • Mark Wright (Naperville) is the visionary founder, president, and CEO of Diverse Facility Solutions (DFS), a company he started in 2002 that specializes in construction management, facility management, and airline support services. Under Mark’s leadership, DFS has expanded beyond its initial focus, now serving a broad spectrum of markets including airports, municipal buildings, universities, and commercial real estate. Mark is also a dedicated community leader and advocate, holding various influential positions on local boards and commissions.

 

Additional Committee Appointments

We are also excited to share several other new committee appointments: Lisa Fanelli, Elmhurst, to the All In DuPage Campaign Committee, and Mike Schroeck, Aurora, to the Investment Committee. Trustee Jim Mark also joined the Board Development Committee.

  • Lisa Fanelli (Elmhurst) received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Loyola University Chicago and spent her early career working in human resources, corporate governance, and as a manager of shareholder services for a Fortune 500 transportation company. After much volunteer work in her children’s schools, Lisa served as a board member and executive director for Foundation 205–growing its fundraising efforts, raising and distributing more than $2 million in grants and funding for educational initiatives. Lisa also serves on DuPage Foundation’s Arts DuPage Advisory Committee.
  • Mike Schroeck (Aurora) is a retired partner and executive of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) and IBM. The Data Warehousing Practice that Mike started in 1993 was rated the #1 DW/Analytics Practice in the world by Gartner and other Independent Analysts for more than 20 years. During his career, Mike was twice named as one of the world’s top “25 Most Influential Consultants” by Consulting Magazine and named a Distinguished Engineer by IBM. Today, Mike enjoys golfing and spending time with his wife Mary, their children, and grandchildren. He has served on a number of local area boards including Hesed House and Loaves & Fishes Community Services.

 

These dedicated professionals bring a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to community service. Their leadership will help drive the Foundation’s mission forward and leave a lasting impact across DuPage County.
